"Very thoughtful staff"

About: Victoria Hospital / Admissions Unit 2 (Emergency Surgical)

(as a service user),

I stayed on Ward 52 after having my gallbladder removed. Nurse Laura helped me during my recovery, she is a credit to the hospital. She is very thoughtful and answered any questions both from myself and my family. She was rushed off her feet every time I saw her but this never impacted her interactions with patients. Thank you!

Before surgery, an anaesthesiologist (I think his name was Duncan) spoke to me in the admissions unit knowing anaesthesia makes me nervous. He spoke very professionally about what happens during this process, explaining everything step by step and made sure I felt less anxious about anaesthesia. He and his colleague really helped ease my nerves before surgery and I really appreciate them for doing that.

Hi Answer123,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback to ward 52. I will personally make sure that Laura hears about this lovely feedback, she will be so happy that she has made your time in hospital better.

I am also so happy to hear how the anaesthetic team were able to ease your worries and answer any questions as it could be a frightening time whilst in hospital.

I hope you are recovering well and wish you all the best.

Kind regards

Shelley Kennedy, Senior charge nurse.

Ward 52.
