"Blue lighted into hospital"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Accident and emergency Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

I collapsed in my hotel room in Sidmouth and was brought in to Exeter hospital by ambulance with blue lights. Handled within A&E I later collapsed twice loosing a lot of blood and ended up in recuperation. From here, I eventually ended up in Okemont Ward.

My treatment throughout my 8-day stay was excellent and I was treated with compassion and civility throughout my time and believe that I am alive due the the considerable skill and ability of al staff for which I am most thankful.

Dear Cheltonian,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. I am so sorry to hear you had such an awful experience which ended with you being admitted to Okement ward and subsequently staying for 8 days.

I am delighted to hear that you are happy with the care you have received and would like to thank you very much for your positive feedback. Kind comments such as yours are always gratefully received and are an encouragement to staff.

Kind regards

Karen Facey
