"Excellent emergency care while on holiday in Cornwall"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

Having visited my GP at home and local hospital with elbow pain and swelling, my forearm started to swell on holiday. I was advised by 111 and out of hours GP services to go to hospital.

In Truro hospital in a busy emergency unit I was booked in, triaged, bloods taken, assessed by a junior doctor and then immediately referred to a consultant.

Everybody who cared for me was simply excellent and a credit to the NHS, achieving so much under the pressures we all know about.

I was diagnosed with a cellulitis infection.

Dear MS Fire

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I'm sorry for the delay in getting back to you on here.

I am pleased to see that you went through the process and was immediately referred to a consultant. I am glad that you received such great care and that all the members of staff were excellent. I hope that you are recovering well.

I am writing to you as a member of the Patient Experience team but, I will ensure your feedback is forwarded on to the Emergency Department.

Thank you, again, for sharing your story with us,

Megan
