"Minor Injury"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde / Flow Navigation Centre

(as a service user),

Called NHS24 to potentially access an appointment at a Minor Injuries Centre for  broken toe. Didn't need to wait to long to speak to a Call Handler. Danielle was very friendly and helpful as was clinical colleaue. Received a call from Admin Team at GG&C thereafter with details of a virtual appointment within the hour. Virtual appointment with Angela who was really helpful and took time to explain and answer questions, and was also able to look at toe. Self care advice given which reassured and will hopefully support my injury and recovery and get me back out running soon. All in all a great service. This pathway definitely protects and reduces pressure on our ED services. As an NHS employee myself it was great to see this pathway in action and have this service available to us. Thanks all.

Dear JTA

Thank you so much for sharing your story on Care Opinion. What a shining example of seamless service demonstrating joint working between Health Boards to ensure patients receive the most appropriate care and treatment. I hope you are doing well.

I'm pleased our staff here at NHS 24 were friendly and helpful and a referral was made for you to receive follow up care. The virtual appointment service is fantastic and really does impact positively on patients. I'm sure my colleagues within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Out of Hours Service will be equally delighted to see your feedback.

Here at NHS 24, as we don't have the benefit of seeing our patients face to face, we feel its hugely important for staff to see the complimentary feedback provided by patients and callers to the 111 service. Therefore, it would be great to hear from you with some further detail. This would enable us to share you thanks directly with Danielle and the Clinical Supervisor who supported your call. You can contact me on 07814 299944 or email Patient.Experience@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk

Thanks again and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

Take care meantime.

Shona

Dear JTA,

I'm sorry to hear about your foot injury, I hope it is not too painful and that you are making a good recovery. I'd like to thank you for taking time to tell us about your experience of, and the care provided by, the NHSGGC Flow Navigation Centre. It is really reassuring to hear that you received a smooth service and I am delighted that Angela was able to help you so successfully. Virtual consultations in Emergency Care are still relatively new, but you have been able to have a consultation with a very experienced A&E Advanced Nurse Practitioner without having to leave home.

I will share your feedback with Angela, and with the admin team, they will be really pleased to hear it.

Please do not hesitate to use our service again if needed in the future.

Kind regards

Ed
