"Colposcopy appointment"

I was very worried about attending my appointment to the colposcopy clinic, after receiving some abnormal test results. However, I was put at ease from the moment I arrived. 

The registration staff were so friendly and attentive, making sure that I was informed about where to go, and where the facilities were. 

I was taken in to the consulting room minutes after arriving, 10 mins earlier than my scheduled appointment. Once in the consulting room, Kerrie didn't hesitate to clearly explain the reason for my visit and what to expect, whilst also making sure I understood everything.

First, I had to have an examination - an unpleasant experience in itself - but far less intimidating due to the thoughtful and reassuring manner displayed by Kerrie, who was carrying out the procedure, along with Lynn(?) who was assisting. Both incredibly pleasant individuals. 

Following the examination, I then had a biopsy procedure, again something that had initially provoked fear and dread - an unknown experience and not knowing how I'd feel. However, I was guided through the entire process, which, as it turned out was barely slightly uncomfortable at worst. I was surprised at how quick, painless and efficient this procedure was, and how unconcerned I was throughout it! 

After the procedure, I was offered a cup of tea, thoughtfully brought to me in a side room, on a tray with a lovely biscuit! There, I was able to relax and take my time to wait for my lift home to arrive. 

Therefore, I'd just like to thank these wonderful people for their expert care and reassurance, for which I'm very grateful for.
