"These measures are clearly insufficient."

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital

(as a service user),

As my wife had appointment on consecutive days in August and we had to drive to site. We made an attempt to park mid afternoon the first day in main car park, this proved to be impossible which we accepted, however the fact that so many vehicles were parking outwith parking bays made driving through car park restrictive.

I therefore dropped off my wife and parked outwith site and collected her once appointment complete at drop off point which was severely restricted.

The next day, using the drop off point, driving through was even worse, such that on returning to pick up wife I got out of my car to place note on  the car windscreen of the car causing severe restriction. However as the driver was in car I advised most strongly (not rudely) that their car was causing severe restriction which they denied but promptly moved their car off site.

This area was double yellow lined but the number of cars parking there is utterly ridiculous

There would appear to be no form of control or management of these areas. It is clearly at the stage something needs done to control parking outwith designated parking areas.

I have already contacted Forth Valley Hospital (FVH) as well as others about this, and was disappointed that the hospital did not reply directly to me, but did respond to the newspaper article about these parking issues. I had some further queries which were answered in an email from the hospital but only after having to chase up a response.

While the email offered apologies and I was assured that there is CCTV, that checks are carried out to dissuade parking outwith designated spaces, and also that there are advisory notices - these measures are clearly insufficient.

I was told that Forth Valley Royal doesn't have authority to take action beyond that such as fines or towing vehicles and that this ability lies with Falkirk Council and Police Scotland. I was told that they have been contacted about this issue, but have so far been unable to assist.
