"Father was an Inpatient at Russells Hall"

About: Russells Hall Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as a relative),

My father was a patient on the Gastroenterology C7 ward at Russells Hall and was waiting for a camera procedure for several days. I was really frustrated at the ward and I felt their level of care was poor.

However a lovely gentleman called Luke who worked for the G.I Unit put all my worries at ease and absolutely turned the situation around. He got my father seen with a consultant straight away on the G.I list and even gave me a precise time. His manner was so caring and reassuring- he's an asset to your hospital. Because of Luke, my father can now be discharged back home.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about the experience your father received at our hospital.

Although I am sorry to hear your father did not have a good experience on Ward C7. You can raise these concerns with our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) via email dgft.pals@nhs.net or telephone: 0800 073 0510 between Monday – Friday 09:00 and 17:00

It is great to hear that your father received excellent care and treatment in the GI Department. We are thrilled to hear that staff were able to put your father at ease during what must have been a difficult time for him.

Your kind comments have been shared with the team and senior management who will be pleased to hear of them.

All the best and take care.

Patient Experience Team
