"I was treated with such care and understanding"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Outpatients

(as the patient),

I was referred to the Frailty Clinic by an Advanced Nursing Practitioner at my GP surgery due to previous falls and extremely poor balance.  I was quite anxious about this, however from the time I stepped in the door I was treated with such care and understanding from everyone I came in contact with - from receptionists, nurses and Consultant, Dr. Burnett.

Various tests were taken and, where necessary, extra appointments were made to further check - ie blood pressure a bit high.

I was given an early appointment to see a physiotherapist who, like the other staff, was extremely kind and efficient.  I was given a four wheeled rollator which has given me so much more confidence on going out.

She also referred me to a local balance/exercise class which is proving beneficial. I am going to see an Occupational Therapist re aids within the home.

What has been a really worrying time as my mobility decreases has been eased considerably by the expertise and kindness of this Frailty Clinic.
