About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

I attended hospital for my annual smear today and was seen by Maria and her colleague at the RD&E, Women's Health Centre. I was sceptical that the procedure could take place as I was experiencing a lot of soreness and was also anxious as smears really hurt me. Maria was wonderfully empathetic and carried out the procedure with very little discomfort for me. She listened to what I was saying, put me at ease, prescribed new medication and made what I thought would be a really awful intervention an experience that made me come out of the appointment smiling. 

Thank you both I really feel that I was given the very best of care this morning.
