I was recommended to join the programme by one of my friends who was also a teen mum, the waiting list was long but I made contact myself (rather than the midwife referral) and I got a reply in a few days and a visit was organised, Louise gave me a call and came to see me, from I was around 16 weeks pregnant Louise came and visited me each week/fortnight for a check in, this took away a lot of my anxiety of becoming a young mum and any questions I had she was more than happy to help with. I had no idea about how to look after a baby at all or what I even needed to buy. Each week Louise would give me a range of booklets and information sheets to help with my upcoming journey of Motherhood.
I don’t know what I would have done If I didn’t join the programme as I didn’t receive any support or information from the community midwives as my pregnancy was during covid lockdown. Once my son was born Louise came to visit us and each month- every few months she would come visit and check up on us, and always reassured me if I was doubting myself. She would always check up on my Well-being as-well as my sons. I wish the partnership lasted more than 2 years. I would recommend this to any young mum or any mum in general as the support I received was Amazing and it’s really helped me into being an amazing mother to my son. Thank you Louise for all the advise and help and little gifts, I will never forget the positive effect you had on my pregancy and motherhood journey ❤️
