"People that are passionate and care so much"

About: Falkirk Community Hospital / ReACH Falkirk Physiotherapy

(as a relative),

My Mum is in her 80s, and was getting to the stage that her walking was getting really bad.  Her doctor made an appointment for Gillian, Physio, and Helen, care in the home, to come to Mum's home.

Gillian showed Mum exercises, how to get up and down and assessed her.  Helen looked at what aids would help Mum, and when she was discharged from them they arranged for her to visit Jean, the Physio at Falkirk Community Hospital, floor 3.

Jean checked Mum to see if she had an imbalance in her ears but then checked so many different things, re her tablets, walking, blood pressure etc.  Mum visited Jean 3 times and the difference in not only her walking but her mental health is amazing.

These 3 people have not only improved Mum's life but have given her the boost she needed to realise that life is worth her pushing through for.  I cannot thank them enough.

People often think, well that's their job, but when you come across people that are passionate and care so much that they want to help their outpatient as much as they can in a caring, patient and funny way they should be thanked for that.

Dear "A happy person",

It's a delight to hear your story about your Mum's experience with Helen, Jean and Jillian. What a joy to read.

It sounds like they were all very thorough at addressing your Mum's needs and coming across as passionate and caring so much (in a patient and funny way).

I'm really pleased to hear that the exercises, aids and assessments all went towards not only making a difference to her walking, but to addressing her mental health, allowing your Mum to "realise that life is worth her pushing through for"!

I have passed your very kind comments and positive experience (for your Mum and yourself) on to Helen, Jean and Jillian, and our wider team.

It's always very encouraging to hear positive feedback and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for sharing this with us.

Best wishes to you and your Mum,

Donna
