In my experience, the good staff were great and the bad staff were awful.
To the midwives that got me through my section, thank you so much. You went above and beyond and I’m so glad you tried to make my birth story the best it could be - even when it didn’t go to plan. You were both kind and supportive to myself and my husband and we really appreciate it.
After I got moved to the labour ward, I experienced care that was the polar opposite. I was left crying and in need of assistance that night. When the assistance came, it was with an attitude and lack of understanding. I lost 1/4 of my blood during my emergency Caesarian section and needed supportive staff to get me through the night, but sadly it wasn’t available. The rest of the staff on the day shifts and following night shifts were excellent so it’s a shame that my experience was tainted on the first night.
