All medical staff that dealt with my case were efficient, caring, professional, and communicative. I was put at ease and questions answered in layman’s terms. Nothing seemed too much trouble, tea and water flowed freely and the whole experience was excellent, I am most grateful and relieved and look forward to a return visit to have my other eye done to the same standards. Despite local government incompetence I am greatly reassured that the NHS is still running efficiently by interested and dedicated individuals who care, and who deserve greater renumeration and reward for their admirable efforts and sacrifice. The support staff at Surgery reception were quietly efficient and pleasant and helpful with directions,
The only negative I experienced was a staff member at pre-op reception the previous day. Their attitude and demeanour were unhelpful and indicative of a training need.
I would like to have been able to name all relevant staff members of the almost two dozen I encountered, but of course my eyesight to read their name badges was somewhat compromised due to the surgical intervention and I did not want to peer too closely or too long for fear of appearing to be leering. The nurse who accompanied me from the ward to my taxi at the front doors, and had spent most time with me is worthy of particular praise and mention, and who exemplifies all the above qualities of care and compassion. May she thrive and prosper.
