"Great care!"

About: Ear, Nose & Throat / Ward 26 Ninewells Hospital / Acute Surgical Receiving Unit Plastic Surgery & Burns / Plastic Surgery Outpatients Area 3A

(as the patient),

I was admitted last week following an infection on my thigh and I wanted to thank you to everyone involved care.

I was admitted through Acute Surgical Receiving Unit (ASRU) and I cannot thank the healthcare support workers enough. They were really friendly, very efficient and put me at ease.  I was not kept waiting and Dorothy inserted my cannula and took my bloods and I did not feel a thing!

I was then reviewed by the plastic surgery registrar, Ragdha and transferred to Ward 26. Ragdha was amazing! She explained everything she was going to do and made sure I was comfortable and all numbed up before carrying out the procedure. One of the ward nurses Clare held my hand throughout and I was very grateful as I was quite nervous!

I was given regular IV antibiotics over a few days and during my time on the ward all the staff were wonderful! The nursing team Stella, Clare, Ross, Alice, Ann-Sophie, Zara, Ros, Michael, Sandra, Marcin, Adam and Elaine to name a few were very supportive and Sorry if I missed anyone out!  The ward seemed busy and I did not like to bother the staff but anything you asked for or needed was never any trouble.

I would also like to say thank the medical team Miss Munro, Mr Ng, Mr Hough, Ragdha and Lewis for looking after me! The were very friendly and happy to answer all my questions, which were a few as I liked to know everything that was going on and what infection I had.

Lastly I would like to thank Jen from Area 3a who reviewed my wound and reassured me it was healing nicely.

No one likes being in hospital but all the staff I encountered made it easier to cope with.

Thank you!
