"I don't think any patient could have asked for better care"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiology University Hospital Hairmyres / Coronary Care Unit

(as a relative),

My mum was admitted to hospital and is due to be discharged. The staff in Coronary Care and also ward 9 have been outstanding. The staff in Coronary Care showed great compassion and care at a very difficult time and I would like to send my gratitude on behalf of my mother and myself for the compassion they displayed.

Ward 9 staff have been fabulous in delivering person-centred care and have helped my mum's recovery not only with medical and nursing interventions but with humour and laughter along the way.  She has appreciated the whole team approach within ward 9 and built up excellent relationships not only with other patients but the staff as well.

I would also like to highlight the flexibility shown around visiting times,  which has assisted family and friends to attend the hospital to visit my mum over the course of a day, which she benefited from as part of her recovery.

I don't think any patient could have asked for better care and I would like to extend my gratitude to the whole team with a very big thank you.

Dear Reillg

Thank you for taking the time to give such lovely feedback on behalf of your mother. Both coronary care and ward 9 will take pleasure in reading your comments and these will be shared across the wider team.

The team do work really closely together to meet the needs of individuals and it is clear from your feedback that your mother recognised the impact of the team approach to care.

Flexibility in visiting is also essential to support needs of our patients, their loved ones and carers.

Thank you again for your comments. They will be much appreciated by all staff members as the relationships that have been built are so important in care delivery.

I hope that your mum is recovering well. It sounds like she will be missed on the ward as humour and laughter is a two way interaction and can be great therapy for all.

Many thanks and kind regards to both you and your mum.

Lise
