"We're all in the same boat."

About: Parent Support Link

(as a service user),

As the parent of two adult sons both dealing with drug & alcohol addictions and mental health issues, when things spiralled out if control last year, I felt I had nowhere to turn

One son constantly saying he didn't want to live, the other in the throws of alcoholism.

My husband and myself just didn't handle the whole situation at all well, and I felt suicidal as a result of it all, wanting to just sleep forever.

I made a random phone call and never looked back, I am still very much  a work in progress, but I now feel I have a safety net support, and I'm so grateful for this organisation.

We are all in the same boat.

I want to express my gratitude for sharing your story with all of us. Your openness is incredibly valuable, as it lets others know they are not alone and that they won't face judgment. It's evident that you've found a measure of stress relief through the support you've accessed, which aligns with our mission to help you achieve this to the best of our ability.

However, it's important to acknowledge that you've done all the hard work to reach this point; no one else could have done it for you. You should take pride in your strength and determination in this journey. I hope that your progress continues in a way that suits you and your family best. Please take good care of yourself and keep looking after your well-being.
