"Now I will have to book another day off work"

About: Rosewood Practice

(as a service user),

I got a call to say I must come for a mandatory blood test

The nurse tried once in each arm to take bloods and failed then sent me to receptionist who gave me a login to go to another clinic to get it done.

I did ask the nurse to retry but they refused

I get paid by the day as a contractor and had to take the day off for the diabetes blood test and was disappointed and felt the nurse couldn’t be bothered to try again.

Now I will have to book another day off and rebook just for bloods

Not happy

I am very sorry for the inconvenience caused. Our Practice nurse has worked for the NHS for many years and is very experienced, unfortunately some patients have difficult veins which means blood samples can not be taken.

I am sure the nurse only refused to retake the bloods because she could not feel an appropriate vein. We try our very best to make a pleasant experience for our patients so it would be unfair to keep trying to take blood when you know you are unable to find a good vein.

I sincerely apologise for your inconvenience but please consider the above

Thank you
