"Way I was treated in ward"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Surgical Assessment Unit

(as a service user),

I'm afraid it's not a nice story, but I feel it had to be brought to light for the sake of others.

Was in that ward as I couldn't walk, after the first day I was in nobody took time to care about me and knowing I wore a pad they should have been checking on me to  make sure I was OK, but wasn't happening. I was using the cardboard urinals but it took the physio to the following week to come and see me as they were busy.

I was left to lie in a wet bed for a full afternoon and night, right through to the next morning, but after them getting that sorted out they decided I had used too many of the bottles so I was having to take a plastic cup to pee in then pour it into a 2 litre juice bottle, which eventually was full, so had to get hold of another nurse to come and take it.

The nurse asked me why I had done this and I explained the way the physio took me and pulled me by the back of my PJ bottoms and dragged me up and had my PJs cutting into my legs that bad I was in tears, but they demanded I would stand but couldn't.

Then before I knew it later a nurse come along and said you're going home, you better get your stuff packed - I was still there four and half hours later, waiting on my pills to be made up, the day went on and I was still sitting in the ward in the evening.

The ambulance guys come to take me home and they said to me you sure you're going home, as you don't look near ready the state you're in. I said to them that's physio for you and to this very day I've still been ill and no strength and them that's meant to look after patients are needing to do that instead of having to buzz every time you wanted them and took them ages to attend as they were all standing at the desk at the end of the ward.

So I'm leaving this story here and hope they take time to care what's been said, as if it was left to folk that've seen what happened in their ward, they would stand and tell them what what's done to me.

I am deeply saddened by your experience and would like to understand more information such as dates and times as this is completely unacceptable treatment and will treated with the severity that you have shared.
