I came in when my waters broke. My contractions were coming too quick, so they slowed them down. Then my contractions slowed down too much. I ended up needing an emergency cesarean under general anesthetic.
It was a very different experience compared to my other deliveries which where all natural deliveries. But everything went very well and the whole process was explained very well to me. I have loads of staff members who I would like to mention for making this experience so wonderful for me. Adele and Jackie the midwives in delivery suite were great. Doctor Verani, the theatre team and the anesthetist James were fantastic! Doctor Cormac the Pediatrician was so lovely. Lissy, Niamh Mc, Mary, Tracey and Michelle in SCBU were all amazing with my little boy when he spent a night in SCBU. The staff on the maternity ward have been so good to me especially Geraldine, Siobhan, Olivia and Imelda. I honestly could not have asked for better care. It has been out of this world and we have had an amazing experience in Daisy Hill- Maternity.
