I was referred to the Urology Dept by my GP. Five months later, a phone call appointment with the consultant was scheduled (I am not sure how this took so long to arrange).
The phone call I received from the consultant was 45 minutes later than scheduled and the consultant sounded disinterested in what I had to say. Despite it being obvious that the treatment process could have been expedited by being an in-person appointment in the first instance, I was given a telephone appointment (which I waited 26 weeks for from the point of the referral being acknowledged) to ensure I was serviced.
I was then told that my symptoms likely point to a chronic infection and I would have to be seen in-person to be considered for any form of treatment - I was informed that it would take a few weeks for a letter to arrive with an appointment on, so by the time I get seen in person it will likely have been around a year from the point of referral. Very disappointing, upsetting and distressing.
