"I feel very safe and well protected"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Haematology ward – ward 5

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I have been in haematology for 3 weeks now. The staff display great teamwork and communicate well with each other, they add a great atmosphere to the ward. I admire the resilience of the staff to be able to deliver potentially bad news and continue to stay strong for the patient- that is exactly what I have been experiencing.

I feel very safe and well protected on this ward- it is immaculate and so hygienic. I haven’t really had an appetite but if I am ever looking some toast or tea etc., the staff always oblige. I am blessed to have visitors in as it brings a little bit of home into the hospital environment.

Thank you so much to all for the incredible care and support I have received.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your opinion.

I am so glad to hear that your stay has been so positive. Thank you for your kind comments about the staff. We pride ourselves in the ability to work as a team and gain the specialist knowledge to be able to support and care for patients during what must be a difficult time for most.

I am glad that you found the ward clean and we will pass these comments on to our colleagues in other teams. We understand that having a poor appetite while in hospital can be difficult but I am glad to hear that the staff try to allow for this with snacks when you do feel like eating.

I wish you all the best as you continue your treatment on the ward.
