My father was admitted to Pilgrim's ED via ambulance with difficulty in breathing having initially called 111 for advice.
Despite being insanely busy he was assessed, had various investigations completed, was reviewed and discharged within 5 hours. Every staff member he encountered was kind, respectful, helpful and apologetic for delays (not their fault.... everyone was working flat out). To maintain such professionalism and compassion - as well as maintain a sense of humour - in what seemed like a complete maelstrom of activity is amazing (I would probably cry in a corner if faced with what the team that day were). Thank you so much to all that were involved in ensuring he was OK.... He's home now and under strict instructions to behave sensibly!!
