At the start of August I had my second cycle of carbo/plat and just 5 minutes before the end there was a bit of drama. The tube of the drip caught, the needle slipped, it hurt and my hand swelled.
The reaction by the nurses was fantastic and a big shout out to them. They were professional, confident and reassuring, which meant I did not worry, after all its poison going in to your body.
The doctor was called and he was excellent. I saw him again the next day and the protocol was followed to the letter and I cannot speak highly enough of him. He explained everything and was professional caring and kind.
I would like to thank all the nurses on duty that day and those on duty at the Bostonian. They are all stars and it makes this journey so much easier to face when people are so kind.
"They make this journey so much easier to face"
