"The way we would like hospitals to be run."

About: Brixham Hospital

Anything else?

This is a community hospital and is well loved and looked after by the people of Brixham. The first thing you notice as you enter the main doors is that it is very clean and much better than the usual public places. Staff were very respectful and helpful. My father stayed there for 10 days in 2013 and my mother in 2012. The wards were clean and only have about six beds in each. Cleanliness was very noticeable and noise and rushing were at a minimum. The catering was more like a small hotel than the usual hospital fare and must help the patients to improve quicker. All food appeared to be prepared and cooked in house. (when I was in Torbay Hospital I lost weight!) The 'Friends of Brixham Hospital' were very noticeable in their grand efforts to bring extra comfort to the patients. There is a small car park at the main entrance and another at the back for the wards.
