"A recent hospital stay"

About: Scarborough General Hospital

(as the patient),

I was admitted to Scarborough Hospital in August 2023 and discharged 2 days after admission. I was diagnosed with a blocked bile duct due to small stones. To determine this I received a CT scan and an MRI MCRP scan, all within a 24 hour period. I was admitted to the Oak Ward, where I received excellent treatment from all staff but must give a special shout out to Lois, Leah, Courage and Dr Bashir. Given all I hear about today with regards to the NHS is strikes, staff retention and waiting lists, I'm glad to say that my experience was a totally positive one and restored my faith in the institution.

Thank you for your kind words regarding the care you received on Oak Ward at Scarborough Hospital. It is heartening to know that all you were treated with such kindness and encouragement during your appointment.

Our staff work hard to ensure their patients receive the highest standard of care, and we appreciate your positive remarks about the treatment you received from Dr Bashir and the nursing team involved in your care.

I have passed on your comments to the staff involved, which I am sure they will be very pleased to read.
