I attended for day procedure for esophageal varices for the 7th time since being admitted to A&E then onto ward 7 and onward discharge a week later back in Feb 2023.
During all of my encounters, the doctors and nursing staff have been truly magnificent. I was treated with respect, dignity and felt valued. Everything was explained to me and my anxiety levels were quickly reduced as my health is quite complex.
The endoscopy staff were so professional and set the standard in professional care. Special thanks to Dr Cadden, RNs Darling, BJ, Marianne and Shonna. I feel I am in safe hands coming to the endescopy unit and I hope this story will allay the concerns of other patients due to attend.
I never quite understand why people criticise the NHS, but I can only praise this great institution for continuing to provide such high levels of care in difficult circumstances. Well done to all!!!
