I was referred to ward 52 from the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, the surgeon called to advise there was a bed available.
The staff were very welcoming when I arrived and I settled into the ward very quickly.
The housekeeper in ward 52 is great, she seems to really know me as a patient and remembers me from my last visit, it's just the little thing and that makes me feel brilliant.
She really is a lot of fun and gives me cuddles too that are needed at times.
I am experiencing a lot of pain but you really don't notice the pain when she is around.
I have had a feeding tube inserted. I was fully prepared for this procedure, it was undertaken in the Day Intervention Unit. I was sedated and don't really remember much about it.
All staff her in the Victoria Hospital has been great
All staff spend as much time as possible with me. This is a very busy ward and I really haven't seen such a happier bunch of nurses in my life.
The care in ward 52 is fantastic.
