(as a parent/guardian),

I was only 7 weeks pregnant when I found out I had a rare pregnancy condition, a Heterotopic pregnancy, 1 in 40.000.  I had a very healthy baby and a second attached to my tube.  I underwent surgery for this.

It was Lotus led due to being high risk and can honestly say if it wasn't for the help from lotus my pregnancy would have been very different. They were able to help me understand what was happening and helped me through the hardest time of my life having to say goodbye to one baby but still being able to carry on the pregnancy to have a healthy boy. 

My anxiety and stress levels were so high until I met with the Lotus team.  They made me feel at ease and were always there at the other end of the phone if I needed extra support.  I'm still very much in contact with that support network as we built a relationship and I like to send updates via whatsapp to show how much my boy has came on.

The Lotus team was my saving grace in hard times.  They looked after me with and made sure if they couldn't personally help me to source the help needed. Every time I look at my child I am so grateful for the care I received.

I am delighted that the Lotus Continuity of Midwifery Carer team were able to support you through this difficult experience but also for the safe birth of your baby boy.

Your feedback reiterates the importance of continuity of midwifery carer, which as a Trust are transforming our services, so that all women regardless of obstetric or midwifery needs will have the opportunity to be cared for in a small team of midwives through pregnancy, birth and the early parenting period. The Lotus team are leading the way as the first continuity of midwifery carer team in the Trust.
