I have been in hospital for 5 weeks after experiencing extreme chest pains. There really hasn't been many things happening as I have been in under observation mainly to try and get to the bottom of the issue. I am now awaiting a procedure on my arteries at the beginning of the week provided there are no cancellations or emergencies- so hopefully all goes to plan on that front. I really couldn't say a bad word about the staff in the hospital. They are so helpful and approachable they really can have a bit of craic. If they have a spare few minutes, they will pop in and have a wee chat which I really appreciate.
Although I don't have any new updates everyday, the doctors will keep me in the loop as the what is happening and any inclination of how things will progress- such as a date for moving to the Royal. I also really value how the staff can explain things in layman's terms to put me at ease. I have been given leaflets explaining the procedure so my family and I can read through to get an understanding. I am thankful to have my independence as I can walk down to the reception to get the papers etc. and equally can have visitors in twice per day. The food is delicious and I am shocked at the great variety. The hygiene of the room is great, the only minor issue would be the toilets at times but that is more down to the way patients use the facilities as opposed to how the cleaners clean them. Overall I am delighted with the care I have received in 1 north and want to thank each and every member of staff for supporting me.
