"Treatment for a lump on my arm"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Dermatology

(as the patient),

I was very worried when this lump appeared. I saw a Nurse Practitioner at my local surgery who referred me to the  Dermatology department a couple of weeks later. The Doctor there examined my arm and she then examined the rest of my body -there were no other lumps/moles etc.

On arrival the receptionist was very welcoming  and after a few minutes wait the doctor saw me. She explained the procedure to me and then I went into the operating theatre to be met by two friendly nurses who also put me at ease. The doctor then explained before she began.

I didn't feel any pain at any time.  I was given a form explaining what to do and when I needed to go to my surgery for the stitches to be removed. I was very happy with this procedure and praise the doctor and her staff highly.

Dear eaglezf69,

Thank you for your kind words regarding your recent experience of having a procedure at the Dermatology department.

It sounds like you had a quick referral in.

It is lovely to hear you felt the receptionist and nursing staff were welcoming and your praise for the Dr carrying out the procedure.

I will be happy to share your positive feedback with the department.

Kinds regards

Alicia
