"Great staff/care at the Royal Alexandra Hospital Paisley"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics (wards 21-23) Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

I had a fall in June this year and was admitted to the RAH Paisley. The paramedics who came first were very professional, caring and understanding of the pain I was in.

When I arrived at hospital and my only complaint would be the length of time they had to stay with me before handing over. I now understand why the is such a wait time for ambulances as through not fault of them they have to wait maybe new system here could be introduced where quicker handover would free up the ambulances and staff. After a lengthy wait finally seen the doctor and was diagnosed with a broken hip. I was operated on the next morning and I was admitted to Ward 23 and the staff were amazing.

A particular thanks to all the nurses especially Sharon who made me laugh so much even in my great discomfort. Her care and compassion knows no bounds. Also special thanks to Jennifer, Roxie, Donna and Rae as well as all the others. The health care assistants were also second to none with their helpfulness and kindness. A special thanks also the Miss Julie for undertaking my operation very successfully. People are all too quick to condemn our health service but I can say with what these people have to endure on a daily basis they all deserve a large pay rise. Everyone on the ward was treated exactly the same with care, compassion, dignity and respect.

Dear Westmarc Admin

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback on Care Opinion.

I was sorry to hear you had to be admitted to the Royal Alexandra Hospital after experiencing a fall and your wait was a little longer than expected. This must have been a very worrying and anxious time for you.

I was however delighted to hear the care and treatment you received from the staff within the Orthopaedics Department was to a high standard and you felt well cared for.

I will be happy to pass on your thanks to the staff who I'm sure will be touched to hear you had such a pleasant experience.

Kind regards

Kevin
