"Minor Injuries and South West Ambulance care"

About: Camborne Redruth Community Hospital / Minor injury unit and primary care centre Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Emergency Department South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust

(as a service user),

When my other half was knocked off his bike by a car I took him to Minor Injuries at Camborne Redruth Hospital where he was seen by a very lovely Dr, Abby who was caring and professional and mindful of pain and anxiety. He was transferred by ambulance Newquay crew; Judy, Sean & Richard who were also extremely kind and caring. Due to the pressures on the Emergency Department at RCHT they were unable to unload and had to transfer to a team from Helston, Dave and Gill who were also great despite not having had a break in their shift. Angus, the ED Dr was very efficient despite clearly being extremely pressured he took the time to explain everything clearly and luckily, all was well enough for us to go home. Thank you, everyone for your care and expertise.

Thank you so much for your positive feedback in relation to the experience that you and your husband had with several health services and hope your husband has recovered. As a Trust we are pleased to be included in this with Camborne and Redruth Community hospital and will pass your comments to the Matron and team leads to cascade to the relevant staff members. We will also pass this feedback to the other services to read and am sure they will be equally pleased to hear this.

Good afternoon.

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback regarding the experience you and your partner encountered. I am sorry to read that your partner got injured and hope they are recovering well. I am sorry to read that the Emergency Department needed to transfer you due to the levels of pressure, however I am glad you were seen and everything was explained to you clearly and sufficiently by Dr Angus. If you wish to raise feedback regarding the pressures of the Emergency Department and how this impacted your experience, you may do so by contacting the Patient Experience Team on rcht.patientexperience@nhs.net

Best Wishes.

Zoe - Patient Experience Administrator.

Good afternoon BWFC76

Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to your comments above. Thank you so much for providing us with feedback on the service your partner received, it is much appreciated! We are so glad to hear they were well looked after, though I am sorry that you both had to experience this at all.

For confidentiality, your patient information is redacted on this platform and so we cannot find the details of your incident, we would love to pass your message onto the Ambulance crew who attended you and so, if you would be willing to share some additional information, please could you email compliments@swast.nhs.uk with your name, date the ambulance arrived, address and thank you message, we will then ensure this is passed onto to the relevant crew.

Thank you again for taking the time to feedback and we hope your partner are recovering well after the accident!

Kindest regards,

Sami
