"Hyperemesis Gravidarum - care and treatment"

About: New Cross Hospital / Maternity care

(as a service user),

Went here 4 times over 2 weeks due to severe hyperemesis (40+ vomiting per day) had to beg for treatment.

It wasn’t until I had contacted senior NHS consultants that anything got done. I was made to feel like I was going mad. I really don’t want to have my baby here and it doesn’t feel safe after how I was treated. I can’t put into words how bad the treatment was and wouldn’t wish it on anyone. PALS didn’t seem to care either.

Once I got a consultant that understood the condition it was treated properly but that took 2 weeks and many of the doctors I saw seemed rude and ignorant of the condition

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your comments regarding your recent patient experience.

I am sorry for any distress this matter has caused. I also sorry to read you were disappointed with PALS. However, to enable us to look further into your concerns, I would be grateful if you would contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) again on 01902 695362 or rwh-tr.PALS@nhs.net

Kindest regards

Update posted by HG sufferer (a service user)

Hi Alison,

while I'm still under the hospital and already have significant safety concerns I don't wish to give you my details for fear of repercussions. Happy to come forward after the birth and give full and specific details about the whole ordeal but I am not comfortable doing so whilst I still have to come to the hospital.

I hope you can understand this.
