I went to hospital in an ambulance, and I visited E&D twice this year and I have not had a very good experience on either visit.
On the first visit the Dr Didn’t do a thing except put a cannular in and accuse me of being drunk. I am paraplegic and had a fall and hurt my knee quite badly I was not drunk.
On the second visit, I had a different Dr and they took an Xray of my right knee and they didn’t take an Xray of my left knee but I feel I must have damaged my ankles as well and they are still quite swollen even now.
I got very short shrift in there, but they admitted me for a stay. I didn’t go straight onto the ward-I went into a room with no windows and it was like I was put into a room with just beds in it. I wasn’t even on a proper bed for the first few days, and I wasn’t offered food or drink for a couple of days. In this room no one came to see me unless I shouted for them. In the holding bay I really felt the people weren’t very kind to me and I really felt I didn’t know where I was.
