"Acupressure and Aromatherapy to kickstart labour"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care)

(as the patient),

Due to being 41 weeks pregnant and wanting to avoid being induced, I attended the Acupressure and Aromatherapy Clinic provided by Aberdeen Maternity Hospital after receiving the details through my Midwife.

The Acupressure and Aromatherapy appointment at the beginning of July 2023 was very relaxing, and my partner and I took away knowledge from the Midwife on the acupressure points on the body and some aromatherapy oil to try at home to kickstart the labour.

Two days later I started the early stages of labour and another two days later gave birth to our baby girl, which I believe was the result of the Acupressure and Aromatherapy.

Congratulation on the birth of your baby girl and thankyou so much for taking the time to feedback on our service.

The aromatherapy and acupressure service is still in its pilot phase and we hope to be able to offer it to more service users throughout Grampian in the future.
