"I could not have asked for better care"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Medical Assessment Unit

(as a service user),

I was sent to MAU from A&E - what a busy place. I was in a lot of pain, had bad news and didn't manage to sleep; however, Jaqui and Caroline (nursing associate and health care assistant I think) were amazing. I could not have asked for better care and it was really heartening to see how they went above and beyond with all patients. I was astonished at how hard they worked whilst maintaining a positive and cheerful attitude, even at the end of a 12-hour shift. One very poorly elderly patient who was fading away looked 25 years younger after they had tended to them and met their needs. Thank you for your hard work and professionalism.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback for MAU.

As the Matron for MAU I recognise the environment can be challenging for patients due to the level of activity within the unit. However I am pleased to hear that you have had such a positive experience. The staff on MAU work very hard in order to ensure all patients needs are met to a high standard. It is lovely to see this has bee recognised.
