"Good care of burnt feet"

About: Clackmannanshire and Stirling Health & Social Care Partnership

(as a service user),

I was involved in a minor explosion which resulted in burns to my feet, approximately 4% of my body, I was treated reasonably quickly by A&E (not in NHS Forth Valley), and then released to the care of nurses.

The nurses are NHS Forth Valley both 'day' nurses (home visits) and at the treatment room were good. Obviously my feet were initially very painful, and the bandages need to be changed regularly.

The nurses were very good at removing the bandages in such a way to minimise the pain from removing the bandages directly from the wounds, and added the new bandages in pain free way.
