My 16 year old son was trying to climb out his bedroom window at midnight to go out with his friends.
He has ASD and I was very concerned about his vulnerabilities in making impulsive decisions and not being honest with us.
He’s already in trouble with the police, I feel he’s struggling with the changes coming his way as he’s left school and has no plans for the next 2 months.
I have tried to get support but really struggled to get the help we need, I have arranged private counselling for him.
Having come into A&E, I’ve not felt supported as a parent and we have been waiting for CAMHS for over 7 hours.
I feel that the system to support mental health is failing our young people.
I feel so alone and let down, it’s like there is prevention to help before my son does something to either harm himself or someone else, we don’t feel safe around him as a family.
