My daughter was sent to A&E in the ulster hospital recently following GP blood tests for her diagnosed blood clotting disorder. Her levels were noted as dangerously low, out of hours GP rang to tell her to go to A&E immediately.
She ended up being admitted due to risks as she was actively bleeding out and platelets sitting at 14. She was left sitting in a chair all night, then given a trolley in a side room awaiting a haematology consultant visit for treatment and care.
She still had not seen a haematologist almost 24 hours later. Only blood tests done no other intervention or examinations have been done.
Absolutely disgraceful standards of care and I feel the risk to her health is being completely ignored.
Extremely poor timescale of care.
In the end, my daughter self-discharged and still hasn't seen a specialist
"Unacceptable waiting time for urgent treatment"
