"Wait for surgery, but good care from community nurses"

About: Community Nursing Services / Newgate Community nursing team Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Trauma and orthopaedics

My wife was waiting nearly 2 years for a knee replacement, her consultants kept leaving and she was put to the bottom of the list each time. She has since passed away but did get her new knee.

I am now house bound and awaiting an operation for a new hip but i have been told I am 1 point above the BMI to be able to have to the operation so I need to lose weight. this is difficult due to me not being able to exercise and not leave my home. My scales have run out of batteries so cannot weigh myself either at home.

The NHS has been marvellous however from all the community care I have received from the nurses. I've had nurses out for ulcers and falls team out previously and they have been so kind and caring.
