Hi, I was wanting to send my thanks to some of your amazing staff who looked after me in March, following a horrific ordeal in which me and my baby were victims in a hit and run.
First of all the paramedics that were on scene, both from the air ambulance and the road ambulances. They were just amazing in what was a highly stressful environment. Especially the ladies who were recognising my need to keep my baby close (he was uninjured, thankfully). I can't thank them enough for listening to me, saying all the right things, and just being absolutely outstanding at their jobs. I truly wish there was a way I could thank them properly. In particular one lady with grey hair from the air ambulance, she really took control and even in the state I was in I remember thinking how good she was at her job.
Also the staff in A&E, this part was hazy but I do remember a male nurse with tattoos who was brilliant.
The INCREDIBLE surgeon who reattached my hand. The lovely Palestinian anaesthetist who kept me calm before surgery, so sorry I don't know their names.
And finally the amazing staff on Orthopaedics. The most lovely and welcoming ward I've ever been on as a patient or visitor. It has such a fantastic group of staff, I can't speak highly enough of them. Specifically the nurse who looked after me, Laura, and a bank HCA who I believe was called Ayla. They made such a scary and awful time so much easier for me.
I was in a side room to accommodate for my young breastfeeding baby. If they hadn't made these accommodations and been so fabulous at their jobs, the whole ordeal would have been so much harder. I think about it often and would love for them to receive the recognition.
Sorry, I realise this has become a bit of a long speech!
I went into hospital and had my surgery in March this year
Thank you.x
