"Efficient staff in A&E"

About: Derriford Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

This week I went to Derriford A&E , I thought I may have broken a rib. It was extremely busy there , but I was seen after a while.  Later on a Doctor examined me and organised a CT scan for that day. As a result a potential lung problem was identified and an appropriate Consultant was asked for opinion.

Despite the very busy day in A&E my day there was made the most use of by the staff . They were thorough in investigating my situation and didn't rush to get me out quickly. I had a lung function test the day after and a PET scan the next day.

It was all very efficient.   Government set targets for waiting times are an unnecessary imposition on hospital departments . What counts is what is done in the time available

Many thanks for taking the time to leave positive feedback during what is a difficult time. I have passed your comments onto the team who will be very grateful for this. I hope you are recovering well.

Thank you
