Our daughter had an admission into Antrim area hospital recently to undergo emergency surgery.
From the minute she was admitted until her discharge all the staff were fantastic with her. She has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and lots of sensory issues etc but the care and compassion shown to her and ourselves was absolutely over and above the job title in most cases - a hundred million thank yous would never be enough!!
In particular the surgical teams that successfully completed what turned out to be a complex procedure, the nursing staff in the recovery ward, and all the wonderful nurses and staff in the paediatric ward that interacted with, and cared for, our daughter who was in Bay 1 during her stay. They were all absolutely amazing and provide such a valuable service to our community. Not all heroes wear capes, some wear nursing uniforms and scrubs ❤️❤️❤️
