I had an Ophthalmology appointment at Barnstable hospital last week. I’m having a bit of laser treatment on a troublesome eye. There were no problems with my appointment. The doctor I saw was extremely communicative and anything I wanted to know he told me and he was quite happy to talk away, it was an extremely useful experience, his name is Doctor Thornton, the support member of staff, was called Sarah, she was also excellent at her job, easy to get on with, if you can have a laugh with someone it really helps. The whole ambiance of the place is good.
Things always seem to go smoothly, I go fairly regularly I suppose and it all seems to go alright, if I have a point to make it is always taken on board.
I also use the urology department in this hospital quite often, and I have the same attitude about them really, right from my GP who I saw in the first place, it all has been absolutely excellent. Sometimes clerical details are a bit vague and dates might be wrong ( e.g. a letter might say they say they saw me in august when it was July, but it doesn’t matter, no significance to it), but generally the urology department is as good as the others.
"Staff were easy to get on with"
