"Very reassuring and friendly"

About: Western Health & Social Care Trust / Diabetes footcare pathway

(as a relative),

My mother had a diabetic podiatry appointment today. She is newly diagnosed and also has significant hearing loss so she was apprehensive about her appointment. The podiatrist, Angela, was fantastic. She was very reassuring and friendly. It is the first time I can say that staff were actually deaf aware. She spoke loudly and clearly to mum, without shouting. She put my mum totally at ease.

Dear Ais79

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story about the care given to your mother at her recent podiatry appointment. I am Aileen Gallagher the Podiatry Locality Manager for Foyle. I’m so pleased to hear that Angela went the extra step so your Mother had a positive experience during her podiatry appointment. I will make sure your feedback is passed to Angela and the team. Services have been under immense pressure over the last year so receiving positive stories like this can be a real boost to staff morale working in services, so thanks again for taking the time to share your story.

Many Thanks

Aileen
