"health and safety concern"

About: Allied Health Professionals / Podiatry

(as a service user),

The waiting area was too warm and I felt ill

I was told the windows could not be opened

I feel this is a health + safety issue and not acceptable

Dear uniformxt66,

My name is Máire Alexander and I am the Patient and Client Experience Manager within the Belfast Trust.

I am really sorry to hear that the waiting room was so warm that you felt ill while you were waiting for your podiatry appointment. I can imagine that it can be difficult, especially in the warmer weather we had recently.

I would like to investigate this and to look at comfort measures that the team could put into place to prevent this happening to other patients. Would you be able to let me know what site you were in, if it was a health and well being centre, or in one of our hospitals?

I really do appreciate you letting us know, as I want to ensure that all who use our services are cared for and you have highlighted an issue that we may need to change. Thank you.

I hope that your appointment was otherwise as you would expect.

Many thanks again,

Máire Alexander
