About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Cardiology (heart problems) Ward 1E Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Ear, Nose & Throat (ward 3b) Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Imaging (Xrays and Scans) Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Physiotherapy

(as a service user),

My son has been under the chest wall team at Glasgow sick kids since 2021. He had the nuss procedure in May in ward 3b.

Our stay was brilliant from admission to discharge and follow up.

On admission Suzie the clinical support worker admitted us and we felt reassured and cared for, she is such a nice caring person . The team from Mr Davies and Mr Jacovides,  the anaesthetist Dr King and all of the nursing team on ward 3b , the pain team Kay, Kareen and Margaret thank you for the ward care and aftercare, knowing you were on the end of the phone is priceless and physio Ashley and her outstanding team made a very difficult week manageable.

As a NHS worker myself I wanted to take the time to make the team know how special they are and we are very thankful. At each visit to sick kids opd 12 staff were lovely and each dept visited from medical photography, cardiology and X-ray the care was outstanding. Juanita the secretary made communication easy always replying to my messages quickly. The chest wall service deserve a massive Thank you, you are making such a difference to the lives of many children who go through the service.

Dear L7kh,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

I am glad your son has had the required surgery and hope he is recovering well at home.

It was lovely to read how you felt reassured and cared for throughout your stay with us.

It means so much to our teams to know that we are making a positive difference to the children and families in our care and I will ensure this fantastic feedback reaches the staff involved.

Many thanks,

Emma Mcginlay

Lead Nurse
