"She calmed him with her lovely caring manner"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Acute Medical Unit Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / General Surgery

(as the patient),

I was recently referred to Edinburgh Royal infirmary by my GP due to high temp, and constantly being sick and abdominal pain. Went straight to the medic ward pod D through a&e and the lovely nurse that looked after me was amazing,  I remember her name was Sheila.

I had my 14 year old autistic son with me who was anxious at me being ill and sick she calmed him with her lovely caring manner.  The Dr was amazing too and turned out I needed apendix out . Then referred to ward 206 and staff was amazing. I got home 2 days later.  So I had a good experience all round.

Thank you for taking time out of your recovery to let us know about your experience. It must have been very frightening for you both so I'm glad we could help in this way. I will make sure this is shared with our ED and 206 teams they will be very grateful.

Take care.

Michelle
