My husband is quite a large person, roughly 22 stone and suffers with vascular dementia, Atrial Fibrillation and diabetes to name a few. He also underwent a knee operation in 2019 which has left him weaker.
Anyway, the problem occurred when he was unable to get himself off the loo, I was unable to assist and I didn’t know what to do. I was very upset and crying so I rang my doctor who put us in touch with the community response team and Red Cross.
Adam and Kudrin (not sure if I have the correct pronunciation so apologies) came out and helped from the community team. I have never asked for help before, I didn’t know it was even available.
They were wonderful. They helped him up, walked him around a bit, did health checks and assessed his health and needs. They arranged for us to have a shower chair, bed raiser, toilet raiser seat, Zimmer frame – just wonderful, I had been at my wits end but these people were so caring, helpful and it took a load of me.
Just wanted them to know my appreciation.
"Wonderful service"
