"Daughter- badly broken tibia"

About: General Surgery / Theatre Recovery Perth Royal Infirmary / Accident & Emergency Scottish Ambulance Service

(as a parent/guardian),

At the end of May my daughter badly broke her tibia requiring urgent medical care. Unfortunate the ambulance service refused to attend, requiring her to be transported via car to Perth Royal Infirmary.

The staff there were brilliant- Charge nurse Jenni and Staff nurse Rachel in particular and HCSW who also began with a J but whose name escapes me, sorry! All were professional and reassuring and helped put my daughter at ease and treat her effectively and quickly.

She required sedation to have her leg straightened and again this was done efficiently and with great care and reassurance. She was then transferred to Ninewells hospital for attention to her leg in theatre.

Dear MissusC

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to read about the experience you have described when your daughter needed help.

It would be helpful if you could get in touch with our team at sas.feedback@nhs.scot so we can look into this matter for you. What I would need is your daughter's name, date of when the call was placed and also a contact telephone number to allow us to call you back to discuss our findings with you.

I look forward to hearing from you

Kind Regards

Lesley
